Administrative Machinery of the prefecture

The head of the prefecture is the governor, who is elected by the prefectural citizens. A governor’s term of office is 4 years and a governor can be re-elected. The power of local public entities is divided between the legislative and executive branches; these 2 entities are represented by the prefectural assembly and the governor, respectively. Specific matters such as administration of education and elections are entrusted to respective administrative boards in order to prevent concentration of all executive powers to one person.
